Men's Advance is a One Day event for men seeking to advance in their faith and calling in every area of life.
Whether you've been at Village Church for many years, or just a few months, or never even heard of it, we would love to have you join us for a great day together.
TEACHING
Our main sessions include music and teaching, opening the Bible and seeing how it speaks to the things we face today. Our March 14th theme is "Lay Aside" out of Hebrews 12, and we will be considering the calling for every man to lay aside everything that keeps us from running the race that God has for us.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Men will have an opportunity to select three breakout sessions covering various topics within the theme of "Lay Aside." These sessions are led by humble men, sharing their own struggles and successes in particular areas of life, who are passionate about helping others see growth by trusting in God's design.
Breakout sessions are designed to speak to particular areas of life, including marriage, parenting, leading in the home, fighting sin and struggles, anger, contentment, career, friendship, and finances.
You will hear from solid men who have wrestled and struggled, who admit they are far from perfect, but who share stories, examine things from God's perspective, and leave you with practical action steps for your own life.
MUSIC
Main sessions include times of worship through music, helping to lead men to declare the truth of Jesus and give Him praise.
FREE TIME + SPORTS
Between dinner and our evening session, we set aside some free time for men to hangout, fellowship, or play sports together. For our March 14th Men's Advance, we will be inviting everyone to the Crean Lutheran Football Stadium for some sports under the lights. We play a game called "duckball" which is the official sport of Village Church Men's Ministry, and a ton of laughs and fun. It's a foam bat and ball layered with duct tape, and it makes for a game filled with memories and laughter, and plenty of heckling. We also play soccer, and whatever other sports guys want to play on the turf.
Not interested in reliving your high school glory days and tearing a hamstring? You can hang back for fire pits, fellowship, and lots more food.
FELLOWSHIP
Between sessions, during free time, and late night, you will have plenty of time to hangout, get to know some guys, gather around fire pits, and fellowship together. Village Church Men's Ministry is a brotherhood of believers who love sharing life together, love pushing each other to be better men in every area of life, and love inviting new men into our community.
FOOD
We don't play around with food. You can expect snack and drinks throughout the day, plenty of coffee, first dinner, and second dinner.
For our March 14th Men's Advance, we will have a late night Food Fest with dueling grills, featuring 12 individual stations of small bites prepared by Village Church Men.
